Gistas mi owon,
Ken tii ke? Shey dede e jor?
Happy birthday to me! Happy New Year to Me!! in fact it’s ‘Happiness’ all around ni ke.
I’m one of those people who are really big on birthdays…their birthdays. In fact, my birthday marks the beginning of a New Year for me. The start of another chapter…another chance to make it better shall we say. I know I know ‘to each HER own J, abi?’
Anywhen, as with the beginning of any New Year, we pause for all of one minute, reflect and think about our lives, and then with utmost sincerity…at the time, anyway… we write out our deepest hopes and dreams and desires aka New Year’s Resolutions. We usually write these with the deepest hope and genuine intent of following thru…and that’s what I have done. I have written a number of resolutions that I am determined to see through (so epp me God. Amen)
But as I wrote I noticed an interesting pattern my resolutions were essentially the same! Sure the wordings differed, but the meanings were the same. E gba mi ke! So, that means I have not shed the post baby 20lbs? Even though baby don nearly marry? Sokay, let’s leaf that one for now.
And then I had what ‘Gbongilishi /English language calls an Epiphany. I realized that there was one common denominator lacking in all of my unresoluted resolutions- Consistency. Yes, shocking innit? And to think I came to this realization all by myself, an patewo ghin mi jor/can I get a round of applause?
CONSISTENCY I realized is the key to actualizing some, if not all of my resolutions. That said, I have set a resolution for HER Gist and you guys are going to help me, by holding me accountable. I plan to publish at least one (1) post here every week. Whether it’s a full on epistle, a video or both together ‘gan paapa’; bottom line, every week I plan to ‘show up’ with a fresh new post on here, aimed to Make you laugh ‘seriously’.
And so here we go….
